Book Dummy – Do You Remember My Name?

The actual dummy version has been shortlisted and selected into the final round at IMAGES VEVEY BOOK AWARD 2019.

“Do You Remember My Name?“ is a personal flash-back over the term of the past ten years of my nearly lifelong existence without a partner. The longest relationship lasted one year when I was 21 years old. 26 years have passed since and all subsequent relationships happened to be shorter. Some time ago I read the following quote in a Swiss newspaper: „To live alone without a woman is a waste of time.“ For me, being alone doesn‘t mean being lonely. Maybe I‘ve just gotten used to it. Nevertheless, the desire remains not to live my life without a relationship. In order to change the state of being alone, it can be a possibility to compensate it temporarily, but without being able to change the overall situation. Rather, the cycle begins from the beginning and the longing for physical closeness awakens again as a compensation for what I don't experience. This is my only constant in life – the desire for a relationship with the fact that I have experienced everything else and ask myself: „Love, what is it? What remains is the unfulfilled form of a relationship in my life till date.
